THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 4th in SAN FRANCISCO

SF Golden Gate

Spend your first morning visiting the infamous Golden Gate Bridge. Walk across the sidewalks admiring the San Francisco Bay, which may be covered in a rolling blanket of fog. If you are feeling extra motivated, wake up early to capture a remarkable sunrise photo.

SF Japanese Tea Garden

Then head over to the Golden Gate Park, another SF must-see. The area spans nearly five miles and holds a trove of adventures. Explore the wilderness area where you can find live bison or relish in the beauty of Stow Lake. Seek peace in the sanctuary of the Japanese Tea Garden, home to the original American fortune cookie.

Eat lunch at an iconic Golden Gate City sandwich shop named Ike’s. The menu boasts a considerable amount of tasty options accompanied with their super secret (and super delicious) sauce.

SF Chinatown

Feel like you’re stepping foot into China without ever leaving the United States by visiting SF’s Chinatown, the largest in the United States. Due to a large Chinese immigrant population, the area has a very authentic feel to it. Be sure to visit the Dragon Gate and Tin How Buddhist Temple.

To get your seafood fix, dine at Hog Island Oyster Company, a restaurant that is all about using oysters from sustainable and local farms. The enjoyable atmosphere and delectable dishes will guarantee a great experience.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5th in SAN JOSE

Winchester Mystery House

Start your day with a little mystery at the obscure Winchester Mystery House. Sarah Winchester, wife of gun magnate William Wirt Winchester, built the house after the deaths of her husband and daughter in the 1800’s. She was a firm believer in spiritualism and designed the house with a series of ghost deterrents. Explore over 160 rooms, secret hallways, and doors that lead to nowhere, but try not to get too lost. Who knows, you might even see a ghost.

Next, learn about what the Silicon Valley is most known for- technology- at the Tech Museum of Innovation. Build your own interactive robot or tour the expansive exhibits centered on scientific concepts and past innovations.

Grab lunch and a drink at the Farmers Union, a comfortable tavern with rustic flair. Then, enjoy your own delicious creation at CREAM. Customize an ice cream sandwich to your liking by pairing any two homemade cookies with your choice of ice cream.

Japanese Friendship Garden

Get some fresh air and walk the grounds of Kelley Park. Take a walk on the wild side at the Happy Hollow Park and Zoo, home to vibrant exhibits featuring meerkats, jaguars, lemurs, and more. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and koi filled ponds of the Japanese Friendship Garden.

If you are craving authentic, delicious Mexican food, then Metro Balderas is right up your alley. Order the al pastor tacos or quesadilla, both made with fresh ingredients. If you are looking for something on the spicier side, try the chorizo tacos. Just looking at the food is enough to “Hacerte agua la boca” (make your mouth water). Top off the night with a cocktail (or two) in the contemporary lounge area at VBar. The bar has large flat screen tvs and is the perfect place to catch up on the latest sporting event or get pumped about the big game with some fellow football fans.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 6th in SANTA CLARA

In-N-Out burger

Pay a visit to a California staple, In-N-Out Burger . Nosh on a never-packaged, additive free burger and a serving of hand cut fries or drink a creamy milkshake. Fall into a fast-food coma of deliciousness.

Walk off your burger food baby at the Mission Gardens, which are located in the Santa Clara University campus. Stroll through the lush landscaped grounds and gaze at the interesting sculptures. Admire the garden’s adobe wall, which is close to two hundred years old and the oldest structures on campus!
