The Spanish tend to eat later than most other cultures. Lunch, the largest meal of the day is typically around 2-3 in the afternoon. Dinner is usually a smaller meal and is served as late as 10 PM.
Spain is famous for its tapas, the small, appetizer sized dishes served in bars and restaurants. Patrons can order many different tapas and combine them to make a full meal, or do as the locals do and snack on them between meals.
Spaniards are notorious for late nights. Many bars and clubs do not even open until midnight. Make sure to plan accordingly to get a true taste of Spain’s nightlife.
